War isn't kind to anyone, but Duo is lucky that he came out the other side more or less intact. There's a few faded scars here and there, some older than even the fighting he was involved in, and one still slightly pinkish one from the dragon attack above his left hip. Healed but still visual reminder of what led him to Akira's in the first place.
He's never been ashamed of his body, but there's a half a second where he remembers the mark is there. Akira doesn't linger on it or any other faded flaws on his skin, though. Not that he expected him to, but it was still a silent relief that seeing what almost killed him doesn't make Akira hesitate. He wants to enjoy this, too, obviously.
